Indian Army is leaving no stone unturned when it comes to prepping itself for the modern warfare, for it is ever-evolving and the threats are constantly changing. To keep up with the pace of such changes, Indian Army’s Northern Command has conducted a high-intensity multi-domain exercise aimed at preparing for next-generation conflicts.
Held over four days, the drill introduced new benchmarks in combat readiness, refining reflexes and deriving lessons critical to modern warfare. Named Exercise Yudh Vidhhwans, the drills Demonstrated robust capability in multi-domain operations in a net-centric Environment.
“NorthernComd showcased the Whole of Nation approach to fight #FutureWars through seamless synergy and innovation in a realistic scenario,” it shared on X.
Exercise Yudh Vidhhwans: What was the focus of the latest drills?
Commanders, staff and troops were tested against futuristic threats across cyber, space, electromagnetic and cognitive domains. The drill marked a robust whole-of-nation approach, with participation from tri-service elements (Army, Navy, Air Force), Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF), central government agencies, indigenous private sector defence players.
The inclusion of domestic industry strengthened the drive towards jointness, innovation and Aatmanirbharta (self-reliance) in defence readiness.
What did the Northern Army Commander emphasise?
Lieutenant-General Pratik Sharma underlined the evolving nature of warfare, stating, “With domains blurring, we must leverage niche technology and keep innovating.
