The Indian Air Force (IAF) announced on Sunday (May 11) that it has successfully executed its assigned tasks under Operation Sindoor, stating that the operations were carried out with precision and professionalism. The IAF also noted that the operations are still ongoing and urged the public to refrain from speculation and the dissemination of unverified information.

“The Indian Air Force (IAF) has successfully executed its assigned tasks in Operation Sindoor, with precision and professionalism. Operations were conducted in a deliberate and discreet manner, aligned with National Objectives,” the IAF stated in a post on its official X (formerly Twitter) handle.

“Since the Operations are still ongoing, a detailed briefing will be conducted in due course. The IAF urges all to refrain from speculation and dissemination of unverified information,” the statement added.

Operation Sindoor was launched by the Indian Armed Forces on May 7, targeting nine sites in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir. The operation was in response to the April 22 terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which resulted in the deaths of 26 Indian tourists.

The Indian government described the strikes as focused and measured, aiming to neutralise terrorist infrastructure linked to groups such as Jaish-e-Mohammed and Lashkar-e-Taiba.

Despite a ceasefire agreement between India and Pakistan following the initial strikes, the IAF’s statement indicates that operations under Operation Sindoor are still in progress. The IAF has committed to providing a detailed briefing once the operations conclude.

The IAF’s call for restraint in sharing unverified information underscores the sensitive nature of ongoing military operations and the importance of accurate information dissemination during such times.
