To enhance coordination between civil administration and the armed forces, 161 officers from various departments of the Maharashtra State Services took part in a week-long training programme at Aundh Military Station in Pune.

Conducted from June 4 to 10, the initiative was mainly focused on strengthening joint preparedness for crisis and disaster situations.

What was the objective of the training capsule?

As per official sources cited in media reports, the training aimed to build closer working relationships between civil authorities and the military, particularly in high-stress scenarios such as natural disasters or internal security threats. It also focused on developing leadership, situational awareness, and rapid-response planning among participating officers.

Who were the participants?

The training involved officers from a wide range of state departments, including Deputy Collectors, Deputy Superintendents of Police (DySPs), Block Development Officers (BDOs), and Education Officers, among others. These officials hold frontline responsibilities in local administration and crisis response, the media reports said.

What did the training include?

Media reports indicate that the participants engaged in structured leadership modules, on-ground drills, and simulated emergency scenarios. These sessions were designed to familiarise them with military protocols and foster seamless coordination during joint operations.

How does this initiative fit into broader national goals?

According to Indian Army sources quoted in reports, the programme forms part of a wider strategy to build robust, cooperative frameworks between civilian institutions and defence forces. By aligning crisis response capabilities, the initiative supports integrated action during emergencies, ranging from floods and earthquakes to law and order situations.
