Indian Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi on Tuesday (March 03, 2026) declared open the new office chambers of India’s International Movement to the United Nations (IIMUN) and later visited a premier military institution in Madhya Pradesh.

Addressing a gathering of heads of institutions from across the country at the IIMUN event, General Dwivedi shared his experience of being the Army chief and presented key lessons and principles to build institutions.

He highlighted that organisations thrive on vision, discipline, teamwork, and a strong culture of mentorship, and stressed the importance of integrity, decisiveness, and leading by example, according to a post by ADGPI.

The ADGPI post also stated that the Army and IIMUN signed an MoU on the sidelines of the event to enhance cooperation in peacekeeping training.

The MoU includes the exchange of expertise, seminars, exercises, and participation of subject-matter experts at major international forums.

Later in the day, General Dwivedi visited the Military College of Telecommunication Engineering (MCTE) in Mhow, where he inspected the newly commissioned Network for Spectrum (NFS) Advanced Training Centre.

The facility will train officers and personnel from all three defence services in high-level multi-domain operations and network-centric warfare.

An MCTE press release said the training at the NFS centre aligns with the Army’s 2026 theme, ‘Network and Data Centric War System.’

The centre is designed to impart technical knowledge on the critical sensor-to-shooter link for officers of the infantry, artillery, and armoured corps, strengthening integrated combat capabilities.

The Army chief also visited the drone training centre at MCTE and later proceeded to the Army War College, where he interacted with ex-servicemen and felicitated selected officers for their contributions to the Army and society.

The visits reflected the army’s twin focus on leadership development and rapid technological modernisation as it prepares for emerging security challenges.
