Maj Gen Yousef Maayouf Saeed Al Hallami, Commander of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Land Forces, is on an official visit to India from October 27–28, 2025. The visit aims to boost bilateral military cooperation, explore new training and capability enhancement opportunities, and reinforce the growing India-UAE defence partnership.

A major highlight of the visit was a detailed briefing on Operation Sindoor, showcasing the effective use of indigenous, Made-in-India defence systems by the Indian Armed Forces. He was briefed by DG Information System and the Army Design Bureau on India’s defence capabilities and Artificial Intelligence roadmap for Indian Army, the Ministry of Defence said in a statement.

India’s retaliatory strikes on terror bases during the operation demonstrated India’s technological and tactical strength, underscoring its growing capability for self-reliance and regional stability, an aspect that drew significant interest from the UAE delegation.

The visit marks another milestone in the deepening strategic partnership between India and the UAE. It highlights shared priorities in regional security, defence innovation, and industrial cooperation, paving the way for a future-ready military partnership anchored in mutual trust and technological collaboration.

Earlier this year on July 30, India and the United Arab Emirates reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral defence cooperation during the 13th India-UAE Joint Defence Cooperation Committee (JDCC) meeting. During this meeting, the two sides agreed to enhance military training cooperation.

In the run-up to the JDCC, India and UAE had also held the 4th Army-to-Army, 9th Navy-to-Navy, and inaugural Air-to-Air Staff Talks from July 28-29, 2025. These deliberations focused on enhancing military exercises, training, and Subject Matter Expert Exchange.
