For anyone closely following major terrorist attacks and especially those concerning India, they would agree how closely they are linked to Pakistan. From harboring miscreants to serving as the breeding ground, Islamabad could pass for both. And once again, recent viral videos of a top JeM commander have highlighted Pak military nexus with terrorists.
A day after it was revealed that Pakistan Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir personally ordered his officers and soldiers to attend the funeral of Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) operatives killed in the May 7 Indian missile strikes – Operation Sindoor – New Delhi hit back strongly.
Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal on Friday (September 19, 2025) said that the nexus between Pakistan’s state, military, and terrorists is already well known. “On terrorism matters we are very clear. The world is aware of the nexus between the terrorists and the Pakistani state and military.”
Jaiswal stressed that such statements make it even more glaring. With this, he reminded the global community that every international forum, from BRICS to SCO, recognizes the threat of cross-border terrorism, with repeated calls for stronger collective action.
How JeM revealed Pakistan’s military-terror nexus?
The latest proof of Pakistan’s complicity came from Jaish-e-Mohammad itself. In a viral video, senior JeM commander Ilyas Kashmiri openly boasted about the Pakistani Army’s alignment with jihadi ideology.
“After the struggle of 25 years, we have brought the state, Pakistan Army, Air Force and Navy on the jihadi ideology. Those who were killed (on the May 7 India attack) belonged to JeM, and it was the Pakistan Army and Air Force that had taken their revenge… Tell me, isn’t it true?” Kashmiri declared.
Circulated widely on Telegram channels, the videos show JeM leaders asking people to join jihad against India while conceding that Op Sindoor strikes damaged their bases in Pakistan following the Pahalgam terror attack. This direct admission confirms what India has long alleged, that Pakistan’s military not only shelters terror groups but also operates in tandem with them.
Why is this significant after May 7 Operation Sindoor strikes?
On May 7, India launched precision missile strikes on Jaish-e-Mohammad’s headquarters in Bahawalpur, Pakistan. The strikes were part of Operation Sindoor, conducted after credible intelligence pointed to JeM’s role in preparing fresh cross-border terror attacks.
Pakistan initially attempted to downplay the losses. But reports of Asim Munir’s orders to honor JeM fighters, followed by Kashmiri’s viral video, have blown open Islamabad’s duplicity.
What is India’s message to the world?
India has reiterated that cross-border terrorism is not just a bilateral issue but a global threat. Jaiswal urged the international community to “strengthen and intensify efforts” against terrorism in all its forms and manifestations, warning that any tolerance for Pakistan’s policies will only embolden extremist networks.
For New Delhi, Pakistan’s repeated actions, from providing safe havens to terrorists to glorifying their deaths, are fresh evidence that Islamabad is not just a sponsor of terror but a partner in it.
