Ajeya Warrior 2025: India-UK Armies Set For High-Intensity Drills In Rajasthan With One Mission – ‘Zero Terror’

Earlier in October 2025, India and the United Kingdom (UK) had signed a $468 million mega defence deal, as part of which the Indian Army is set to receive UK-made missiles. The defence co-operation between the two countries was bolstered after UK PM Keir Starmer’s India visit , which involved the Britain’s largest-ever trade delegation of more than 100 CEOs, entrepreneurs.
Now, to further strengthen their military ties, the Indian Army and the UK Army are set to train together during the 8th edition of the biennial joint bilateral Exercise Ajeya Warrior 2025. The joint military drills are set to take place from November 17–30, 2025 at the Mahajan Field Firing Ranges in Rajasthan.
The upcoming exercise stands out as one of the most significant bilateral engagements between the two armies, marking sustained momentum in India–UK defence cooperation. The two mighty forces and trusted partners will use cutting-edge technology with one common mission of ‘zero terror’.
Exercise Ajeya Warrior 2025: Why is the joint exercise being conducted?
The primary objective of Ajeya Warrior 2025 is to enhance operational synergy for joint counter-terrorism operations in semi-urban environments. As per the framework of Chapter VII of the UN mandate, the exercise will focus on coordinated responses to complex threats, integrated operations, and interoperability between troops from both sides.
The drill comes at a time when India–UK defence ties are witnessing renewed strategic alignment, including expanded collaboration in emerging technologies, joint training, and regional security frameworks. Exercise Ajeya Warrior reflects the shared commitment of both nations to global peace and stability.
It also sets out to establish military interoperability, mutual trust and camaraderie, broader defence cooperation between the Indian and UK armies. The growing frequency and scale of such engagements underline New Delhi and London’s intent to strengthen their strategic partnership in an evolving global security landscape.
What happened in the last edition of Ajeya Warrior Exercise?
7th edition of joint military exercise Ajeya Warrior was conducted at Salisbury Plains, United Kingdom from April 27 to May 11, 2023. The exercise is held alternatively in the UK and India, the the previous edition was held at Chaubatia, Uttarakhand in October 2021.

Soldiers of the 2 Royal Gorkha Rifles from the United Kingdom and Indian Army soldiers from the BIHAR Regiment participated in the 7th edition of the exercise. The aim of the exercise is to build positive military relations, imbibe each other’s best practices and promote the ability to operate together.
