India-Singapore Military Exercise in Jodhpur: Objectives, Details Of Bold Kurukshetra 2025

In a bid to better their defence cooperation, India and Singapore are conducting the 14th edition of their joint military exercise – Exercise Bold Kurukshetra 2025. It started on Sunday (July 27) and run till August 4 (Monday), ending in an equipment display by the Indian Army.

The 42 Singapore Armoured Regiment of the 4 Singapore Armoured Brigade and the Indian Army’s Mechanised Infantry Regiment are taking part in the Exercise Bold Kurukshetra 2025 taking place in Jodhpur.

What is India and Singapore’s joint Exercise Bold Kurukshetra 2025?

This bilateral military exercise between India and Singapore was initiated under the framework of enhanced defence cooperation. Bold Kurukshetra is aimed at bolstering defence ties between the two Asian powers. The joined exercise sheds light on the strong and long-standing bilateral defence relationship between both countries.

Under these bilateral exercises, the Indian and Singapore armed forces engage in combat interoperability, majorly focusing on urban warfare and counter-terrorism.

What will happen in 14th Exercise Bold Kurukshetra 2025?

India and Singapore’s 14th joined military exercise will be conducted as a Table Top Exercise and Computer-Based Wargame, aimed at validating operational procedures for mechanised warfare. It will culminate in an equipment display by the Indian Army.

With these exercises, what the armies of the both the countries want to achieve is enhanced interoperability and their joint training capabilities under United Nations mandate, thereby strengthening bilateral defence cooperation.

Additionally, Exercise Bold Kurukshetra 2025 will also see a symbolic handing over of the Regimental Flag by the 42 Singapore Armoured Regiment to the Indian contingent, which would be signify the formal transfer of command to the Indian formation for the duration of the exercise.

Exercise Bold Kurukshetra 2025 will further consolidate the strong defence ties between India and Singapore and foster greater mutual understanding and collaboration.

Who all were present in Exercise Bold Kurukshetra 2025 opening ceremony?

Taking place in Jodhpur, the opening ceremony of the exercise was marked by participation of senior officers from both sides. Colonel Arjun Ganapathi, Commanding Officer of The Mechanised Infantry Regiment, led the Indian contingent, while Lieutenant Colonel Khiew Zhi Yoong, Battalion Commander of the 42 Singapore Armoured Regiment, headed the Singaporean side.

Brigadier Pritam, Commander of 340 (I) Mechanised Brigade, and Colonel Wong Zeng Yu, Commander of the 4 Singapore Armoured Brigade, were present as chief guests.
