In line with its aim of becoming a future ready force, the Indian Army staged Exercise Yudh Kaushal 3.0 in the icy heights of the Eastern Himalayas, demonstrating grit, innovation, and adaptability. Conducted in the Kameng region, the large-scale manoeuvres were designed to push both troops and technology to their limits in unforgiving terrain and extreme weather.
Senior commanders, including the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the Gajraj Corps, witnessed the drills that showcased India’s growing military edge.
How did the exercise reflect next-generation warfare?
From drone surveillance and real-time target acquisition to precision strikes and synchronised battlefield manoeuvres, the exercise highlighted how the Indian Army is embracing multi-domain operations.
A striking feature of the exercise was the debut of the newly raised ASHNI platoons, which are specialised units blending cutting-edge tech with combat-hardened tactics. Their performance suggested how India intends to fight and win wars of the future.
Why is civil-military collaboration significant?
Yudh Kaushal 3.0 was not just about soldiers and weapons but also marked the active integration of India’s civil defence industry into frontline military planning. As part of the nation’s ‘Decade of Transformation’, the latest exercise symbolised how indigenous innovation is steadily moving from labs to the battlefield, reinforcing the government’s push for Aatmanirbhar Bharat (self-reliant India).
Yudh Kaushal 3.0: What does it say about army’s combat readiness?
By operating seamlessly in high-altitude, hostile environments, the Army reaffirmed its preparedness for any conflict scenario. The exercise validated not only combat endurance in the Himalayas but also the military’s adaptability in adopting emerging technologies like unmanned systems, precision weaponry, and air-littoral dominance.
Exercise Yudh Kaushal 3.0 is more than a routine war game. It serves as a statement of intent that the Indian Army is committed to remaining Future Ready, embracing innovation and adaptability as central pillars of national defence. As military doctrines evolve globally, India is ensuring its forces are not only prepared for today’s conflicts but also for the unpredictable battles of tomorrow.
“The successful conduct of Exercise Yudh Kaushal 3.0 epitomies the Indian Army’s pursuit of excellence, adaptability, and technological advancement, standing as a testimony to its unwavering resolve to remain Future Ready for Next-Generation Warfare,” said Gajraj Corps of the Indian Army.
