US-India Bilateral Engagement Strengthens at Mar-a-Lago

US Ambassador to India Sergio Gor greeted Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri at Mar-a-Lago on Friday (April 11).
In a post on X, Gor said, “It was a pleasure to host Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri tonight at Mar-a-Lago. From trade and defence to energy, India and the United States stand ready to work closely together in the months and years ahead.”
Misri subsequently held talks with US Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said the discussions focused on bilateral themes and upcoming high-level engagement between the nations.
MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal stated that the bilateral meeting covered trade, technology, energy, defence, and regional development. “Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri had a productive meeting with Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau at the Department of State,” he added.
In a separate engagement, US Under Secretary of State for Economic Affairs Jacob Helberg praised his interaction with Misri, highlighting discussions on trade, energy cooperation, and pro-innovation AI policy. In a post on X, Helberg said, “India is an important member of Pax Silica,” adding that he looked forward to working with India to promote secure and trusted artificial intelligence.
Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri arrived in the United States on April 17 for a three-day visit, during which he met with senior officials from the Defence, Commerce, and State departments. The high-level engagement included a meeting with Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
