Less than a week after the car blast near Red Fort rocked the national capital on 10/11, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has secured a major breakthrough. The probe agency on Sunday (November 16, 2025) arrested a Kashmiri resident Amir Rashid Ali, who allegedly conspired with Umar Un Nabi, the suspect behind the Hyundai i20 that blew off on November 10, 2025.

Notably, the white Hyundai i20, used in the attack, was registered in the name of Ali, who has now been arrested from Delhi by the central agency. “NIA investigations had revealed that the accused, a resident of Samboora, Pampore in Jammu and Kashmir, had conspired with the alleged suicide bomber, Umar Un Nabi, to unleash the terror attack,” a statement of the probe agency said.

The developments comes hours after the National Investigation Agency started carrying out raids in several states including Delhi, Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh earlier today in connection with the 10/11 car explosion near the Red Fort.

Delhi blast: Who is Umar Nabi’s aide arrested by the NIA?

A Kashmir resident, Amir Rashid Ali is learnt to have conspired to carry out the blast in Delhi with suicide bomber Umar Nabi. Ali, a resident of Pampore, had travelled to Delhi to facilitate the purchase of the vehicle used as a car-borne IED. The white Hyundai i20, that exploded near Red Fort on Monday was registered in his name.

NIA investigations had revealed that the accused, a resident of Samboora, Pampore in Jammu and Kashmir, had conspired with the alleged suicide bomber Umar to unleash the terror attack. “Amir had come to Delhi to facilitate the purchase of the car which was eventually used as a vehicle-borne Improvised Explosive Device (IED) to trigger the blast,”NIA said.

NIA has forensically established the identity of the deceased driver of the Vehicle Borne IED as Umar Un Nabi, a resident of Pulwama District and Assistant Professor in General Medicine Department in Al Falah University at Faridabad. The anti-terror agency has also seized another vehicle belonging to Nabi.

So far, the NIA has questioned 73 witnesses, including those injured in the November 10 Red Fort blast that killed 13 people.

Delhi blast probe: What is the latest update?

After the car explosions, security agencies had found 3 bullet cartridges, two of them live rounds, from the debris, which are being investigated now. The empty shell and two live bullets, a calibre not permitted for civilian use, were found close to the burnt Hyundai i20 car.

Generally, the 9mm rounds discovered near the blast site are issued to specialised units or individuals with explicit permission. “The staff deployed at the spot were also asked to check their issued ammunition, but none was found missing. The cartridges were there, but there was no weapon to fire them,” a source told PTI.

Meanwhile, angles of the probe continue to expand.
