India’s policy against terrorism is clear, that is any attack on Indian soil will be considered as an act of war. And Operation Sindoor was a step in the direction when the Indian Armed Forces launched retaliatory strikes on terror hideouts in Pakistan and POJK in May, following the Aprill 22 Pahalgam attack.

Now, in a show of a swift yet stern action against terrorism, the Indian Army’s Northern Command has released a new video documenting Operation Sindoor. The operation targeted terror infrastructure across Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), sending a clear message of India’s resolve against cross-border terrorism.

How did the Army respond to the Pahalgam massacre?

Initially, it was Pakistan-backed proxy of Lashkar-e-Taiba – The Resistance Front (TRF) – that claimed responsibility for the attack on civilians in Pahalgam. It later retracted, however, India held Pakistan-based terror outfits accountable and warned of a strong retaliatory response.

On May 7, 2025, the Indian Armed Forces conducted precision strikes on terror camps during Operation Sindoor.

Operation Sindoor Video: What does the new clip reveal?

The three-minute video, shared on social media and YouTube, includes rare drone and missile footage from the operation, accompanied by dramatic visuals and music. It further emphasizes the Army’s zero-tolerance approach, declaring in bold text – “A new line is drawn: India will not stop until terrorism is wiped out.”

“#NorthernCommand ‘s resolute operations in #OperationSindoor were an exemplar of restraint turning into decisive response. Precision strikes on terror launchpads and the elimination of perpetrators of the #Pahalgam massacre underscore our unwavering pursuit of peace in the region,” the unit posted on X.

What about the India-Pakistan ceasefire?

The film also addresses the ceasefire narrative between India and Pakistan, which had drawn global attention after US President Donald Trump claimed credit for “stopping the war.” The Army counters this, featuring a May 2025 clip of Lt Gen Rajiv Ghai, the then DGMO, clarifying that it was Pakistan that first proposed a halt in hostilities.

Why this new Operation Sindoor video is significant?

The Army describes Operation Sindoor as an “exemplar of restraint turning into decisive response.” The release highlights India’s use of niche technologies, precision targeting, and meticulous planning while keeping human grit at the core. For the public, the footage provides an unprecedented glimpse into the scale and sophistication of India’s counter-terror strategy.

By showcasing the operation, the Army has once again reinforced its stance that cross-border terrorism will be met with swift, targeted, and overwhelming retaliation. The video also serves as a public reminder that while India pursues peace, it will not hesitate to act firmly against any provocation.
