As rescue and relief operations continue in flood-hit Dharali in Uttarkashi, the Indian Army has evacuated over 816 civilians. The army is working on the ground in collaboration with ITBP, NDRF, and SDRF to rescue people in Dharali and Harsil. The region saw massive flash floods washing everything away earlier this week.

The Dharali flash floods caused by a cloudburst, lasted for just a few seconds but washed away houses and everything that came in the way. Uttarakhand’s Dharali region is still cut-off due to extensive landslides and rubble. The Indian Army on Friday (August 8) successfully re-established critical communication infrastructure.
