A road accident on the treacherous Pithoragarh–Banbasa stretch in Uttarakhand turned into a display of swift military response, professionalism and humanity as troops of the Nurnag Battalion under the Saidpur Brigade rushed to rescue injured civilians. The accident took place when a civilian vehicle reportedly lost control on the hilly terrain.

Soldiers posted at a nearby Army location, led by their Commanding Officer, immediately mobilised upon noticing the crash. Without waiting for instructions, they moved rapidly to the spot. The troops demonstrated seamless readiness and discipline.

Trained to react under pressure, they reached the accident site within minutes and began providing aid, reflecting the Army’s high state of alertness even during routine deployments.
