Highgam area under alert
“A massive Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) was launched in Highgam village of Baramulla after an IED was reportedly recovered. The bomb disposal squad reached the spot to defuse the explosive,” news agency IANS said. The discovery immediately alerted security teams patrolling the main road.
Recognising the danger, they raised the alarm and deployed extra officers to the scene. As soon as the report came in, forces arrived to seal off the area. Traffic was stopped in both directions to protect drivers and local residents.
Senior officers and security agencies were informed straight away, and a Bomb Disposal Squad was called in to examine the device. The team followed strict safety rules while inspecting the site.
