The Eastern Naval Command (ENC) of the Indian Navy will join YogAndhra 2025, a major initiative by the Ministry of Ayush and the Andhra Pradesh state government, to mark the International Day of Yoga on June 21, 2025, in Visakhapatnam.
Demonstrating solidarity with the residents of Visakhapatnam and a commitment to holistic well-being, more than 11,000 naval personnel and their family members from the ENC would be participating in the yoga session alongside Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The event is scheduled along the iconic 30-km-long RK Beach stretch in Visakhapatnam.
How will the Indian Navy participate in YogAndhra 2025?
Over 11,000 naval personnel and their family members from the ENC would be taking part in YogAndhra 2025, highlighting the Navy’s strong support for holistic wellness initiatives. These participants would be occupying approximately 10 enclosures along RK Beach, significantly contributing to the historic yoga gathering to be led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Additionally, Indian Navy personnel aboard naval ships anchored off Visakhapatnam would also perform yoga simultaneously, adding a distinctive maritime element to the celebrations.
Which naval ships will participate in the yoga event at sea?
Frontline warships from the Eastern Fleet and two Coast Guard Offshore Patrol Vessels would be anchored off RK Beach, Visakhapatnam. These vessels, silhouetted against the city’s skyline, are set to symbolise the Indian Navy’s alignment with the national vision “Yoga for One Earth, One Health.”
This maritime display aims to reinforce the Navy’s commitment to wellness, unity, and national integration, highlighting its proactive role in promoting health and wellness within its ranks and the community.
